Friday night fun-Stampin is OUR happy place

The kids were so keen to make cards on the Friday just been, they are really loving their card making ATM.  so much so that I decided to by some papers (plain and patterned) that they could buy from our "shop".  The kids start of with a set amount at the start of the week, and then for any bad choices/not doing jobs they lose 20c at a time.  Each Friday they get the money that is remaining.  I pick up assorted little things, modelling clay, stickers, mini choc bars, craft supplies and add them to the shop.  Our shop is open 3 times a week and the kids can choose 3 things each time.  It has amazed me how often they will choose craft things over the chocolate!!  So last Friday they were so keen to get to Stampin, and stamp we did.  i think we worked away for little over 3 hours.  Brendan got home and sat with us in the kids TV room at adjoins the Stamp room, it was really great family time.  BTW - no Stampin done by Brendan, but it was great for him to see and experience how much the kids love to create.   Below are a few pics of us at play.

Writing instructions on the back of the card

J's robot card  CASED from Donna Krelle's convention swap.  He loves the Make-A-Monster stamp set, and was hard at work with the Stamp-a-ma-Jig getting things lines up just right!

I had some left over background stamped print of the new stamp set 'Delicate Doilies' so used some to make a sample Christmas card for an upcoming class.  I really like the way it came together, and hope the girls will too x.  Even though I only got one card made, it was great to sit with the kids and see them so busy - and loving paper craft as much as I do.

Sneak peek, new stamp set with two card examples

As promised, not one but two cards made with one of the new stamp sets from the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalogue.  On Wednesday I was invited to a demonstrator's house to come and stamp for a few hours.  I met Genevra at Convention (yes Shan, I had introduced my self to her  :-).  As it turns out her husband saw my magnet on the side of my car a few weeks back at Fremantle, showed it to Genevra, and from their she sent me an email and we caught up this week.  Was so great to go and stamp with other big people, not just my kids!   It's so true Stampin' up is more than just the rubber and ink, the friendships and sharing is pretty special, and the girls I have met are great.

I had been wanting to play with this set "Delicate Doilies" from my Demo Pre-Order and also some of the new In Colours.  Island Indigo (the darker blue colour is just gorgeous), and the other lighter colour Pool Party compliments it really well.  I tied in some neutrals of Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Grey to create a background print onto Whisper white card stock.

This card is for a lovely Mum who I have met at school, she is just so open and welcoming to me and the kids.

I shall be sending this one to my Mother, who although a tad blonde, is just the best Nannie to Jackson and Emma. Jackson thinks Nannie laughs at just about anything, is happy all the time and it's true she does (and is)....but i love her for it, and wouldn't have it any other way.

Wishing you all a great weekend,

Shakin' my tail feather

Had to share with you how I am now spending a part of my Sunday nights.......Zumba!  That's right, I'm jumping onto the Zumba wagon (minus the fluros and lycra).  I love the class, I used to dance in my much younger years and it is great to get moving again.  Having said that, I may not always be exactly in time and the odd limb may be going left when I'm meant to going right, but it is great to be shaking something!!    It has gotten me back in my groove and I have also started walking again while the kids are at school, love the happy feeling after exercising.

For those of you interested, below is the updates list of sold out items from the retiring list.  You can view the whole list here .

I've had a face lift, retiring list updates and a little freebie

Just a little update to let you know that there are a handful of items that have already sold out from the Last Chance list.  The photo corner and star punch are gone, as is the Star punch.  Antique Brass Jumbo, Metallic and Pewter eyelets have also been all snapped up.

Click here to view the updated retired list here.

My pick of the retired items are still the Jolly Holiday DSP papers, just $10.17 - that's 40% off.  Love the colours of cherry cobbler, old olive and very vanilla.  Here is a little sample to inspire you....

In keeping with the Christmas papers, and a perfect match to the DSP mentioned above is the Gifted Stamp Set.  Perfect for gift tags, off the page projects and the odd card or two.  It is retiring at 40% off as well, $29.97 (wood mount).  I love the set because it is so easy to trim, no tricky cutting out  (YAY!)  It also looks lovely when coloured using the SU Marker pens.

Have updated my blog template this weekend, decided it was time for a little "face lift" so to speak!  If you have a spare five seconds would love you to visit me and leave a comment of what you think.  Nothing like a little variety!

Reminder, pre-order of the new 2011-2012 catalogues is still on offer for the month of August.  It's only $9 for your copy to be posted straight to your door.  For those of you living locally and would like to pick up your copy, the new oh so inspiring IB&C is just $6.  Email me to pre-order yours today and receive your exclusive pre-order surprise voucher.

OK, I'm off to go and make a start on this weeks study load for uni.  Nothing like a little light reading in child development theory   ;-)
