Photos of Jarrahdale craft retreat

Last weekend I headed away with some lovely ladies - Karen, Amanda and Hollie for a very much needed and relaxing crafting weekend at Jarrahdale.  Once again, another part of Perth that I had never been to, but it will definately be getting back to.  Big thanks to Amanda for organising it all, looking forward to the next one!
We had a great few days of crafting, and I am pleased to say despite much laughing, chatting, drinking and snacking (what is it with retreats and yummy food!?) that I did get quite a few crafting projects completed.  You can checkout a few of them that I posted last weekend on my Facebook page here .

Lovely little historical cottage

Our crafting space, kept warm by lots of heaters

Rain on the first nice put a stop to this, but it would have been lovely

Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to checkout my list of adults and children's classes for July.

2012 Stampin' Up! Convention Pics Post 2

Hi everyone,

Am going to launch straight into the photos as we have had some pretty gusty winds today and the internet seems to be cutting in and out a bit, but wanted to share some more photos of what goes on at the Convention Awards Dinner on the last night.  For me its all about seeing friends and glamming up for the night!  Once again,  many photos to choose from so these are in no particular order, just good memories or a highlight for me.  Hope you like them!

Me and my dear friend Monique Fielder.  This girl is a scream (alos extremly generous and talented!).  Note my very sexy (but extremely practical) winter coat
This one has to get a mention!  Bris Vegas is the destination for next year's Convention.  Whoo hoo, a chance to visit family and friends (wonder if Laurie will come??  Hope so................ :-)  )
L-R  Clare from Demo Support, me and  Jode.  She my be my upline, but she's also my dearest friend.  Luv ya x x

L-R  Cate, me, Ana.  Cate and Ana are from SU Demo support and it was grat catching up with them on Saturday night to hear more about their roles and working for SU

Well there's a few more from the Convention Album shared, and more to come!  Hope I'm not overloading you with photos, Post 3 will be some swaps that were received by myself and my roomies.  They were very organised and made more than me, thanks girls for allowing me to take the photos.  Joc x

2012 Stampin' Up! Convention Pics - Post Number 1

As promised, photos from last week's fabulous, amazing, inspiring Convention in not so chilly Canberra.  Despite forecasts the weather was not as bad as I had anticipated and as such the gloves did not make an appearance.  Was a busy three days, and with so much to take in its not until I look through the pics to I realise how much I have taken away from Convention both crafty wise and personally.  But that's what I love about this company, its more than the paper and ink, way more.  Its the friendships, the laughs, the way it makes me keep challenging myself to improve.

As you may have seen in the title, this is post number 1.....due to the enormous amounts of photos being taken thanks to modern technology!  And here they are in no particular order, just ones that stand out to me as memorable for one reason or another.  Hope you like them, more to follow, along with my July school holiday classes for the kids.

What would a Convention be without SWAPS!!  Here is just one of many that were shared
Me and my up-up line of my Stampin' Up! family, Shannean the Queen (No 5 Demo of the Year!!!)
Awards Dinner Saturday Night - L to R Shannean, Jodie Cox (my upline and dearest friend - and roomie), moi, Heather (roomie)

Walk from the hotel to the Convention Centre.  All the trees were changing colours, so beautiful

Convention 2012 starts.  This years theme "I am" began with a song from the SU Demo Support girls

OK, more pics to come!  Joc x

Photo of the makings of a simple card... 1.5 hours later

You know how it is, you need to make a card, you have the idea (or in my case a card that was given to me during a swap).  Easy right? You grab the supplies needed and sit down to make said simple card.

But then you start thinking "wait I might add some shimmer and bling, ohh I could just change the embellishment a little, wait I could add a punch", see where I'm going with this!  So before I  knew it over a hour and a half had flown by before I had finished the card which was meant to be quick and simple.  Don't get me wrong, I actually really enjoyed my crafting time tonight, was just me with my paper, inks, stamps, music on in the background...and just a few other supplies as you can see here -

The card on the table is my take of a friend's card which is on the back of the table.  Thanks Marsha for the inspiration.  Hope my Grandma likes it as well.

Shall be listing my June classes shortly, one of which will be making this card using the gorgeous Twitterpated Designer Paper from the current mini, you can view the mini online here.

More pics to follow along with some of my recent trip to Canberra for the annual Australian and New Zealand Convention.   Joc x

Don't forget between now and the end of July hosting a workshop with sales over $650 means $190 in free Stampin' Up! product of your choice, half price off one item.   Plus my gift to you, and extra $5 for every $100 in sales and an extra $10 if sales reach $650.  Why not get together with friends to make a combined order and share the free product rewards?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What if I don’t want the kit, can I still order Stampin’ Up! products from Joc?
Absolutely, but you are crazy not to join!! Many SU demos join to get the products cheaper and support their hobby. (or addiction) lol. But you could even build any sized business doing something you love if you like!

If I join and don't reach the quarterly sales target ($400 per quarter), what happens? Do I just stop becoming a demonstrator and lose my benefits?
That is correct – there is no fee, nothing happens, you just finish.  Join now and you have until September to reach your first quarter minimum in sales.

After becoming a demonstrator, there is a one off 30% discount on my first order?
A: there is a 30% discount on your first order as long as it is over $300.

Is it true that there is no postage payable on the starter kit?
This is true! No postage on the starter kit.
So you have nothing to lose!!

If you have any more questions about anything please don’t hesitate to contact me.

My Grandpa's card minus "fluffing"

Spent a lovely hour or so today making this card for my gorgeous Grandpa George's 84th birthday this year.  Sometimes I never know where to start with cards for the boys, so I decided to just start making (giving myself a little internal pep), not "fluff" like I can be known to do, and just get to it.  Little over an hour later, card was done.....outside and in.  Hope you think it's OK?

I used Well Worn DSP, Card stock - Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla. Stamp Set - Word Play

And the inside, this was just plain white copy paper which I sponged over with Crumb Cake ink.  Love the distressed look it gave.

That's all for now, happy crafting   Joc x

Recent cards I've made

Hi all, its been a while since I've shared some cards, and some of these are more than a month old.  I just loved the recent Sale A Bration papers, and even found a new colour which has grown on me - Soft Suede!  I know, many of you loved from the moment Stampin' Up introduced it to the Neutrals colour family, but I guess it just took me a little longer!

Enclosed was a gift voucher.  These come with a coordinated card and envelope.

Second gift voucher card

Dazzling Diamonds added over the entire Decorative Label punch.  For me it just worked!

Inspired from a recent birthday card from Caroline Cassidy.

Don't forget, the new Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue is now available. You can check it out online here.  Receive a free Stampin' Write Marker (in your choice of colour) when you order over $70 of product from the mini cattie by April 30th.  Email me today to place your order.

Have a great weekend everyone, Joc x

2012 Colour of the Year.......

One of the members of an SU Demonstrator Facebook page I follow shared the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2012.   Was a tad wowed, as I bought a new shirt only last week in the very same colour!   Yep, wish I could say I am just so fashion forward and on trend, but really I think its more a case of the shirt fitted, it was on sale, and I was over shopping!!

Me in said shirt at the Brisbane International Tennis last week
Anyways the winner as far as the colour goes is..........  More info from the Pantone site can be found here

The following image shows their Top 10 colours for this year.  Is it just me or are a few of those colours pretty similar to those in the SU colour range?  Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pool Party come to mind, as well as Crumb Cake and Basic Grey
Otherwise for me, life is good, holiday is wonderful but flying by.  We are just trying to make the most of each day.  Joc x
